Cage Free Turkey is the campaign run by the Farm Animal Protection Association to end the cruel and outdated caging system in which chickens are imprisoned to be raised for their eggs.

Cage-Free Turkey, was established in 2018 and transformed into Farm Animal Protection Association in 2020. The establishment led to institutional policy changes that will affect hundreds of thousands of chickens. Cage-free Turkey believes that one of the most devastating problems in the world is industrial farming. It wants to be an institution that stands out with its practices that support the well-being of its employees while working to end cage laying all over Turkey.

Cage-Free Turkey believes that differences make each team member unique. Thus, a working environment is provided where employees have equal opportunities and are not discriminated regardless of race, religion, language, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age or marital status. The expertise and competencies of individuals are used as the evaluation criteria in processes such as recruitment, performance evaluation and wage increase.

Cage-Free Turkey has a clear no harassment policy in which mobbing or any form of discrimination is not allowed or tolerated. Employees' private lives and lifestyles are independent as long as they do not harm the purpose of existence and morals of Cage-Free Turkey. It has a democratic and collective method in the decision-making process in which open, direct and respectful communication is supported. There is equal pay policy for equal work.

In addition to the right to 32 days paid annual leave, Cage-Free Turkey grants menstrual leave, 8-week paternity leave, holiday leave including Muslim, Christian and Jewish employees, sick leave, bereavement leave, adoption leave. There is a training budget for participation in trainings held in the country or abroad. Employee satisfaction is measured at regular intervals. The team has completely remote and flexible working conditions. Awareness-raising trainings are provided to employees within the scope of the Harassment, Mobbing and Anti-Discrimination policy. There is a detailed procedure for what to do if the employee or volunteer is exposed to/witnessed harassment, mobbing or discrimination. These practices aimed at protecting employee rights and maintaining an inclusive work environment are protected by HR policies and shared transparently with employees.
