ILGA-Europe is an independent, international civil society umbrella organization uniting more than 600 organizations from 54 countries in Europe and Central Asia working for the safety, equality, and freedom of LGBTI people. ILGA addresses LGBTI advocacy in the areas of bodily integrity, civil rights and freedoms, health, inclusion and equality, legal protection, and safety.
ILGA-Europe has certain values that guide the way they work and what they stand for. In line with these values, they focus on equality, inclusiveness, and accountability; they strive to center the voices of those most affected and amplify the voices of the marginalized; they engage in the practice of collective power building; they spread their resources and knowledge as widely as possible, rather than placing themselves at the center of everything; and they work to strengthen the movement as a whole, not just ILGA-Europe.
ILGA-Europe works for the equal representation and participation of women, transgender, intersex, and non-binary people in all their diversity in decision-making in the movement and wider society.
