Red Umbrella Sexual Health and Human Rights Association is a non-governmental organization that develops projects to bring the sexual health, human rights, and all other problems of sex workers living in Turkey to the agenda. They aim to develop solutions to these problems and inform and mobilize sex workers. They also carry out advocacy work before the authorities on gender equality, access to justice, development of social policies, public health, combating discrimination and hate crimes, and other similar issues.
At Red Umbrella, all employees have equal rights regardless of nationality, belief, ethnic origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, gender expression, or age, and they approach recruitment with an inclusive perspective.
Red Umbrella strives to establish procedures and methods to ensure the continuity of its employees, keep their motivation high, improve the quality of work and ensure that employees can work in a safe environment. In addition, the Red Umbrella Association announced that they are giving their employees permission for hormone therapy as of May 2022. Red Umbrella, which adopts the gender+ principle, meets the special health needs of transgender employees with this policy.
