Teyit is a fact-checking organization based in Turkey. Teyit uses open sources to analyze suspicious information on the internet. It aims to make critical thinking a shared value for the agents of the information ecosystem. Since its establishment in 2016, Teyit continues its educational activities in order to improve digital literacy and critical thinking skills. It brings different actors together and contributes to the development of sustainable solutions to the problem of misinformation.
Teyit’s goal to be a pioneering actor includes the standards they apply in the workspace as well as their publications and activities. Every menstruating Teyit employee has a right to use 1-day menstrual leave every month. In addition,Teyit provides its employees with a well-being budget that can be used towards therapy sessions; gym memberships; art workshops and other training activities except for vocational training; and transportation and accommodation at a coastal city for remote work. Teyit also organizes out-of-town socializing events for the employees in which all expenses are covered by the organization. Recognizing the needs of it's employees, Teyit shifted to hybrid working hours since the pandemic and has comfortable workspaces in Ankara and Istanbul.
